Going up to the calvary hill is one of the most faithful traditions of the peregrines that visit Copacabana. Several religious ceremonies that are a fusion Catholicism and Andean rituals take placed in this hill, as a payment to the Pachamama (mother earth). For others it is a sign of purification that becomes a penitence when walking through the via crusis of the passion of the Christ. Over the hill you can have a wonderful view of the Lake. |
