Sampaya is an stone town located at the north of Peninsula with a view of the Illampu mountain and the moon Island (Koati).

This town has been suspended in time because the pre colombian terraces still maintain the fresh color of the vegetation and plantation irrigated by original channels. A series of stone stairs let you go from one level to the other. All houses still maintain a system of running water build by the Incas, at least 800 years ago. There was an pre hispanic trail in between Copacabana and Sampaya, which unfortunately only two kilometers are preserved. Along this trail you can see three varieties of kantuta (The national flower) red, yellow and tricolor. The main festivity of Sampaya is commemorated on august 16th, in honor to its patron saint, "San Roque".
