This construction is located at northwest of the Sun Island and its name means "labyrinth" or "place where you get lost". This construction is clearly divided in two big areas, the most curious is the labyrinth, which was not made on propose, instead of that, was a succession of deposits that were full of products collected from the terraces of agriculture. The other side was probably a ceremonial area in where the locals practiced rituals and ceremonies in honor to their divinities. According to the Incan's myths, the sun was seen for the very first time, raising from behind the Andes and illuminating a puma shape stone that became powerful and holly for them, actually this stone´s real name was "Tixi Karka" which the conquerors couldn't pronounce and changed for an easier spanish name "Titicaca". Later the Incas placed a golden plate covering the entire stone with the face of Wiracocha in the middle. The Spaniards stoled when they arrived to this holly Island. |
